| Touchbionics are a company that provide Upper Limb Prostheses (ULP). Touchbionics owns a number of patents that have allowed them to develop the world's first complete endoskeletal modular arm; the iLimb SystemT
The hands modularity means that the size can be adjusted to fit a child through to an adult, and because the hand is the most anatomically correct on the market, it allows for increased functionality and improved cosmesis.
Web 3D Studio created a Web 3D Product Demo of the iLimb SystemT. Detailed Computer Aided Design (CAD) files were provided by product design company Zisys . These files generated a model made up of over 200,000 polygons. In order to present the hand across the internet, it was necessary to reduce this polygon count down to 26,000 by remodelling the hand, maintaining a high level of detail through texture mapping.
Three gripping animations were added to the visualisation to display the advanced functionality of the hand. These grips can be viewed from all angles. The modularity of the hand is displayed through an "explosion" feature which also shows off the build quality.
The Product Visualisation was finished with an interface and a simple help window to fit in with Touchbionics website. |
