 It doesn't seem like much time has passed since we were assembling desks in our Marchmont office - 18 months in fact; you could have two children in that time - but we have moved office once more. Goodbye to quaint Marchmont (a special good bye to the amazing Haddows deli and their unbeatable turkey, cranberry and brie panninis) and hello to the bustle of the city centre. Hello, and a happy new Spring/ Winter/ confused type of season thing. If you live in the UK you have probably been wondering what happened to Spring and if Summer will ever make it, but fear no more because there is some good news: the new Web 3D Studio website has launched, complete with a 3D interactive Norbert the Sheep to fill the hole in the Spring we missed out on. If you live in sunnier climes, you should avoid heat-stroke and spend more time relaxing in front of the new website.

First off we should probably ask: what is Flash? In true professional fashion I asked Wikipedia and it told me: "Adobe Flash (formerly Macromedia Flash) is a multimedia platform used to add animation, video, and interactivity to Web pages". You should be familiar with Flash content as it has become commonplace across the web. It is most often used for animated banner ads, games and occasionally full websites. If you can spin around the 3D camera on our homepage or have a play with Norbert the sheep then you will already have the Flash player installed on your machine.

Up until this point the vast majority of interactive 3D content online has been created with Java. Not any more. Web 3D Studio can now produce full 3D presentations in Flash format. A key benefit of Flash over Java is that most online media, such as advertisements, animations, games and even most of You Tube is generated with Flash, and this allows us to combine visually stunning 3D presentations and marketing material with all the powerful tools of Flash. 2009 is an exciting time for Web 3D Studio as we now have all the tools at our disposal to ensure that interactive 3D content garners you a real competitive advantage when marketing products through the web.
