| What is Web 3D, and how can it help me? |

Web 3D, also known as Online 3D is a technology used to create interactive 3D graphics and animations, usually - though not necessarily - for use on the internet. Web 3D can improve online product marketing by virtually putting the product in the customers' hands for them to explore and to play with, bringing the virtual experience as close as possible to the real-world experience. Many products allow for a degree of customisation and Web 3D offers the ideal solution, enabling your customers to customise a product online and then purchase it without the need for multiple correspondences between you and your customer. The customer has full creative control, and furthermore it's a fun, enjoyable experience that will not only increase sales but will drive more traffic to your website.Web 3D is not limited to the internet: it can be embedded within a PDF document, making it ideal for email; integrated into touch-screen museum exhibits, allowing visitors to 'handle' ancient artefacts which they'd otherwise only be able to stare at through glass; and has multiple other uses in areas ranging from architecture to training. Although Web 3D is innovative, it is brought to the user's screen through existing media platforms. It is important that the user's experience is not interrupted by annoying requests to download software or to install new plugins, so at Web 3D Studio we opt for technology that is already commonplace on the internet, such as Java and Adobe Flash. As of March 2009, 98.9% of internet enabled PCs had the Flash Player installed, and 96% had the Java runtime environment installed. Web 3D is also supported across all major web browsers.
